Dollar Closes August 31 Above Colombia's TRM at $3,214.27
The US dollar ended the month above the official reference rate, extending an upward trend that has kept it near the $3,200 mark since August's largest weekly rise of the year.

The US dollar in Colombia closed at an average of $3,214.27 on August 31, 2026, sitting $11.48 above the Tasa Representativa del Mercado (TRM) of $3,202.79, according to market data reported by La República and Infobae Colombia.
The close confirms a sustained upward trend that has kept the currency near the $3,200 level following what analysts described as the dollar's largest weekly rise of the year during August. Market analysts noted that trading on the day took place with relative calm, in the absence of major new domestic economic data.
For the Colombian diaspora sending remesas home, the stronger dollar means more pesos per transfer, though it also signals broader currency pressures that the new government will need to manage.
